Round 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft in the Books: What to Expect on Day 2
Round 2 and 3 Projections
With the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft complete, it's time to look ahead to Rounds 2 and 3, where teams will have another chance to fill their rosters with talented prospects. NFL analyst Lance Zierlein has released his projections for how these rounds will play out on Friday night.
Quarterbacks
After a quarterback-heavy first round, Zierlein predicts that only a few signal-callers will be taken in the second and third rounds. One possibility is Clayton Tune of Houston, who could be a target for teams looking for a developmental prospect with upside.
Running Backs
Zierlein expects a number of talented running backs to be available on Day 2, including Evan Hull of Northwestern and Chris Rodriguez Jr. of Kentucky. Both players are known for their versatility and could provide immediate contributions in the NFL.
Wide Receivers
The wide receiver position is deep in this year's draft, and Zierlein believes that several talented pass-catchers will be available in Rounds 2 and 3. Some potential targets include Josh Downs of North Carolina and Kayshon Boutte of LSU.
